Pesarattu

PESARATTU(Pesara-Green gram, attu-Dosa) is a famous breakfast especially in Godavari districts. It is a healthy and nutritious dosa loaded with lentils, ginger and garlic. Try pesarattu with upma it's a very good combo.

                Green gram is packed with vitamins, minerals, fiber, protein, good source of antioxidants, aslo helps in loosing weight.




Ingredients:
  1. Green gram - 1 cup
  2. Ginger - inch
  3. Garlic - 4 pods
  4. Green chillies - 3
  5. Rice flour - 2 tbsp
  6. Turmeric - inch
  7. Refined oil
  8. Salt
  9. Finely chopped onions
  10. Coriander
  11. Water
  12. Cumin seeds


Preparation:
  • Wash green gram(or use moong dal) and soak them in water for overnite.
  • In the morning, drain the water and rinse well.
  • Add green gram, rice flour(for crispiness), ginger, garlic, green chillies, turmeric, salt(adjust according to your taste) and water to blender jar to form thick paste, if needed add some water to the batter to make perfect consistency.



  •  Pesarattu batter doesn't need any fermentation.



Method:
1. Heat tawa/non-stick pan on a medium flame.

2. Pour batter on tawa and add finely chopped onions, green chiilies(optional) and sprinkle cumin seeds.
Pour oil on the edges and cook pesarattu until edges leave the pan.


3.Now filp pesarattu and cook it on the other side.

4.Now pesarattu is ready to be served.

It gives good taste when served with upma.
